He graduated as a medical doctor in 2014 at the Medical School, University of Pécs, Hungary. After graduating, he attended the Doctoral School of Pharmacological and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Neuropharmacology Program at the Medical School, University of Pécs. He received his PhD degree in 2019. During the postdoctoral period (between 2021 and 2022), he participated in a 10-month research training at the Department of Neurophysiology, University of Heidelberg, Medical Faculty Mannheim, Germany. He is a senior lecturer at the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy, Medical School, University of Pécs. He teaches pharmacology and actively trains student research fellows. He was awarded the New National Excellence Program Scholarship of the Ministry of Human Capacities four times, the Humboldt Research Fellowship for Postdoctoral Researchers once. He received 1st prize in 2018 and 2021, 2nd prize in 2019, and 3rd prize in 2017 in the Young Pharmacologist Researcher Application of Hungarian Society for Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology.
His research field is neuropharmacology with focus on the sensory system, the role of capsaicin-sensitive peptidergic afferents and neuro-vascular-immune interactions in inflammatory and pain processes both at the periphery and the central nervous system. He aims to identify novel targets for analgesic and anti-inflammatory drug development. He is involved in the drug development of a novel first-in-class analgesic candidate for neuropathic pain. He published 19 papers with cumulative impact factor of 103 and 306 citations, his h-index is 9. He has extensive research expertise regarding rodent models of acute inflammation, chronic arthritis, and neuropathy, as well as measurement of pain behavior and inflammatory parameters. He also performs in vivo optical imaging measurements.
