She graduated as a medical doctor in 2010 at the Medical University of Pécs, Hungary. She is an associate professor of pharmacology at the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacotherapy of the University of Pecs Medical School. She teaches pharmacology, and trains young scientists- 2 PhDs were defended under her supervision. She received the „Pro Cura Ingenii” Award of the University of Pécs, L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science, Hungarian Scholarship, Junior Szentágothai Award and the Visegrad Group Academies Young Researcher Award.
Her primary research focuses on the role of sensory neuropeptides (hemokinin-1 and somatostatin) in pain models and behavioural studies. Main aims are to unravel the function, target molecule and signalling of the peptides, as well as to select drug candidates with novel mechanisms of action in the treatment of mood disorders and pain. During the last decade, she was involved in several fruitful collaborations (British, Canadian, and Swedish). She published 39 papers with a cumulative impact factor of 188 and 1458 citations; her h-index is 21. She is a member of the Hungarian Pain Society, Neuroscience Society and Physiology Society, as well as the Hungarian Society of Experimental and Clinical Pharmacology.
